Simple, aggregate measurement

We count a commercial-module impression when its top marker becomes visible, once per mounted module; this does not mean the whole guide was read. We count an affiliate-link impression when at least half of its link becomes visible, once per mounted link. We record click events, fixed placement and destination categories, viewport size category, and the first reference-page path in the current document. No search terms, personal identifiers or full referring URLs are stored. These counts do not identify unique visitors. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control disable these events.

We count page loads, broad referral categories and whether the collecting guide is visible after 30 seconds. We also count approved affiliate-link clicks, broad viewport-size categories and first-route events. Our analytics do not set cookies or store IP addresses, visitor identifiers, full referring URLs or search terms. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals disable this measurement. Counts are not unique people and can include repeat loads or bots.

Hosting and security providers necessarily process connection information to deliver and protect the site. Our aggregate dashboard does not receive those security logs. External links take you to independently operated sites with their own policies.

Optional Google Analytics

With your permission, we use Google Analytics to understand visits, traffic sources, campaign links, page engagement, navigation and outbound affiliate clicks. Google uses analytics cookies and browser identifiers to estimate users and sessions; these are not guaranteed counts of distinct people. The service receives connection information needed to process these measurements. We do not send names, email addresses, search text or account credentials, and advertising personalization and Google Signals are disabled.

Google Analytics does not load before you allow it. You can decline or change your choice using Privacy settings at the bottom of any public page. Withdrawing permission disables tracking, clears our Google Analytics cookies and reloads the page. Your preference is stored in your browser for up to six months. Browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals keep analytics off. Previously collected reports are not erased by withdrawal. Our separate aggregate measurement described above remains independent of this optional service.

Affiliate relationships

Ordinary outbound links do not earn us a commission. Any approved affiliate link carries a disclosure beside it and is marked as sponsored; a qualifying purchase may earn us a commission. Editorial recommendations are not guarantees of price, authenticity or future value.

Display advertising

Google display ads are not currently active on this site. An account-verification meta tag does not load an advertising script or set advertising cookies.

Before we enable display ads, we will update this notice to identify the advertising providers and available privacy choices. Google and other advertising providers may use cookies to select ads based on visits to this and other websites. You can manage personalized Google advertising through My Ad Center. Information about Google's use of data on partner sites is available in Google's partner-site privacy explanation. Any required consent controls will be in place before advertising is enabled.
